Terms & Conditions

Staying at The Moorings, Port Gaverne

Irregular Usage of Utilities

Our local agents note the utility meter readings and if the usage is more than the seasonal average we reserve the right to make additional charges for oil, water and electricity.

It is not possible to charge hybrid or electric vehicles at The Moorings from the normal 13 amp sockets because the electrical wiring does not have sufficient capacity and would be dangerously over-loaded.

The Rayburn oven is turned off from May 1 - September 30; if guests would like the Rayburn on during these periods there is an additional charge of £70/week to cover the cost of the oil.

Taking Care of the Property

The property, furniture, fixtures and fittings, and equipment are to be left in the same condition that they were found on arrival. Any damage, loss, breakages or additional cleaning must be paid for (linen is included – but we do not provide beach towels). However, minor accidental breakages will not normally be charged for, but please report any breakages. The accommodation is only for the number of people stated when booking. The Moorings is strictly a No-Smoking property in ALL internal rooms and areas.

Arrival & Departure

The key to the back door is stored in a lock-box and is available from 3pm on the day of arrival. The code, directions and other pre-arrival information will be provided on confirmation of booking. Guests are requested to vacate the premises by 10am on the morning of their departure.

Occupancy

We make up the number of beds in the Moorings according the number of guests originally booked, and assume adults are couples sharing the same room, unless otherwise stated. If there are changes to the occupancy please could you notify us at least two weeks before arrival. (All beds are singles.)

Pets

We are pleased to welcome well-behaved pets to The Moorings, but would ask that you do not allow them upstairs, on the furniture or beds, left alone indoors, or to roam outside unattended at any time. All pet hairs and any marks, mess or stains must be removed before departure. Due to the close proximity of our neighbours, The Moorings is not suitable for dogs that bark excessively.

Payment/Reservations/Cancellations

Reservations must be accompanied by an initial payment of 25% of the tariff price, with the balance payable at least 8 weeks before the arrival date. A £250 security deposit also is payable, which we aim to refund within 14 days of our changeover agents’ inspection and meter readings after departure. We accept payments by cheque, inter-bank transfer (BACs) or Paypal (payments by Paypal incur a 4% handling charge). If the booking is made within 8 weeks of the arrival date, the total costs will be required. We will send written e mail confirmation upon receipt of the Booking, together with the lock-box code, directions and other pre-arrival information. Non-payment of the balance due will be considered a cancellation. In the event of a cancellation you will be liable to pay the total amount due. However, if we manage to re-let the accommodation, 75% of the cost will be returned. You are advised to take out cancellation insurance to cover this eventuality.
